“She’s So Sweet”
Run time: 4:33
“She’s So Sweet” began life with experimenting with different textures and a very simple progression (chord progression). My mentors emphasized to me that the music that we create should take the listener on a journey. The “musical curveball” kicks in with the sitar solo by my buddy Ken Berry. We were playing in a big band together and he was using this particular sound on a tune and I fell in love with that sound all over again. Welcome to the ride... she’s sweet!

This composition has to be the most unique I have reviewed for quite some time, as I listen to the smooth vibrancy of Jazz musician Keith Fiala and his brand new offering entitled She’s So Sweet. This has a quality about it that is incredibly addictive.
This multi-instrumental new release contains a range of keyboards, pertinent percussion, and of course the extremely sweet Trumpet of Fiala, the slow build and progression is a real treat here and for me it reminds me of many journey’s and places I have travelled, driving through the night, past the city lights, the tempo, the pace and the steady onward energy gives me such fond recollections.
The huge symbol in the middle of this piece was cleverly placed as was the spoken audio that went with it, and then we were off again on an ever on going journey of instrumental magic from the artist. A sublime chord progression and a pastiche of textures and tonal brilliance can all be found within this new release from Fiala.
She's So Sweet by Keith Fiala is a smooth ride of wonderful colours and is a tapestry of charm and a composition of chilled contentment, this is one of those tracks to press play to at the end of your day while you wind down with a delicious coffee, and simply breathe in the moment.

"She's So Sweet" is an intriguing single from trumpeter/composer Keith Fiala. There are strong jazz influences as well as catchy pop rhythms, but it's obviously not a piece that easily fits into a specific category - something I always really appreciate! One of the features that make the piece unique is a sitar solo by Ken Berry - and it fits in perfectly! Other instrumentation includes keyboard, bass, hand claps and percussion in a light-hearted and energetic expression of fun and joy (my interpretation).

The girl on the cover sure looks sweet, doesn't she? Once you hear this man's trumpet playing, you will agree that that horn has plenty of sweetness!
While listening to this track, I was reminded of the smoothness of the incredible Herb Alpert. One of the cool things about it is a sitar solo by Ken Berry. That was certainly an unexpected twist in a jazz tune. As different as that may seem, it works incredibly well. With that in mind, I think the artist should continue to pursue this divergent path in his musical journey.
If Keith Fiala decides to push the trumpet's boundaries, I think the outcome will be as captivating as "She's So Sweet."
Give it a listen. If you like to explore something different for a change, you will appreciate it as much as I did.
